Kayly's Pink Hearts Nightgown

Last Saturday I bought 7 different knitt fabrics to make nightgowns for her.  You see those piles on the sofa?  Those are the fabric.  She choose which one I make next for her.  This time was the pink hearts.  She already told me, the next one would be the flamingos one.

I woke up at 5:30 on a Saturday and started sewing on her nightgown.  Finished at 6:40.  Went back to bed haha...  at 7:45 she woke up and saw the new dress on the sofa and wanted to wear it on right away.   "Mommy, I want to wear this forever." said Kayly.

That makes me happy.

She's making funny faces today.

This was when she said "No more pictures, Mommy!"

Kayly's Ladybug Nightgown

Another nightgown for her.  I put all this together in 45 minutes.  Not bad.  Except it would be faster if the knit fabric don't roll so much.  It was rolling like crazy.  It's thin, comfortable for her to wear at night time, but it takes so much time to unroll it at the edge.

Same old style, that's why it's easy and fast.  =)

Kayly's Green Nightgown

It is getting hot here and the dresses I made for her last year are really short on her now.  So I have to make some dresses for her to wear to sleep at night.  The weather here is in the 90's.  I bought this knit fabric from SAS for 1.99 a yard.  I can make 2 dresses with 1 yard.  I think I bought 7 different fabrics for her so it looks like I'm going to take a break sewing for myself, and sewing for Kayly instead.

This is a little too big on her, but oh well, it's for bed time, so it's loose and comfy.  Maybe it will fit her for the next 2 years haha!!!

She just had her 4th birthday so we still have the decorations up.

Black and White Dress

I found the picture of this dress on overstock.com and I printed it out hoping I will make it one day.

I go on the internet and find dresses that I like from overstock, modcloth, dillards... Then I copy the picture and print them out, put them in a 3 ring binder.  Kindda like my own catalog.  =)

And here is my version.
I actually finished this a few days ago but been so sick and haven't had a chance to take pictures.  I drafted my own pattern.  =)

How did I do???

Pink Floral Dress

It's not complete yet, but almost finish.  Just a few more things to do like sew the ends of the zipper to the inside of the back.

Anyway, my sister suggested one of the styles on the simplicity website -- New Look 6146 .  She suggested the black and white one, but I don't like spaghetti straps so I made the straps wider like the blue floral dress at the bottom.

I did not buy the pattern.  Just drafted my own so it doesn't look exactly like the picture.

So here is my version

I think the straps on the back are very ugly.  I'll wear a jacket or something over.

Yeah, the black zipper is sticking out.  I need to sew it in.

Final Look on the Purple Half Circle Dress

So I thought about it all day yesterday at work.  Decided to take out the waist band  =)
Only took me about 20 minutes total to take out the white waist band and put back the zipper.

So, white or black belt???

Purple Half Circle Dress

Again, no pattern.  I saw my sister's sister in law wearing a dress like this in one of her pictures and I said "I'm making one"

So here it is.  The back is not very nice  =(  I think I'm going to take out the band at the waist.
The front looks perfectly fine and pretty to me, but the back.  Yuck!!!
I love the half circle skirt.  Love the way it looks.

YUCK!!

The right side is smaller than the left side.  =(

How did this happen???

My husband suggested a bow on the back.  What do you think?
