First Refashioned Dress for me

I don't think I will do another refashion for me again because it's so hard.  It took me almost 4 hours, neglecting my daughter and my husband, this is what I came up with.  Doesn't look very pretty.  It's too loose at the waist, maybe I can save it for when I'm pregnant again.  Haha  But if it's not loose at the waist, I can't fit in it through my head.  There's no zipper or buttons no where.  I guess it failed. 

Do you notice the little green/gray something on the right of the pictures near my feet?
That's the ugly dress that I made for Kayly from the men's shirt.  I use it to clean the floor.  hahaha

Another dress from men's shirt

I did this in 1 hour from start to finish.  I'm getting good at it.  I mean this dress only.  Remember I made the blue one from the men's shirt?  So now she has 2.

Kayly's Green Sundress (shirt to dress)

I always want to make a dress like this for Kayly and I finally did it.  I had to redo it 4 times.  It's knit and it stretched so much, so I had to redo the whole thing.  Then it was still too big, so I redid it again.  Then the straps were too long...  And now it's finally done.

I'm proud of myself because I have patience to take it apart 4 times hehe

Men's shirt to Kayly's dress pictures

So I got her wearing the dress but she wasn't in the "picture mood".  She should get used to taking pictures by now.  We only take about 100000 pictures a month haha.

Another skirt to dress for Kayly

This was one of my skirts that I haven't worn in a longgggggggg time.  So, it's time to cut it up for Kayly. 

A coworker gave me the blue dress for my daughter I think 2 years ago.  It's a 5T and now my daughter can finally fit it.  So I decided to make one similar to that.  It was fun making it.  Took me total of 2 hours.

I need something for facing but couldn't find any knit at home, so I cut used Kayly's old pants, it was size 3T  LOL.  I'm not going to throw away another thing.  I might need it for facing some day.  =)

My friend gave me this one...

I have the other leg of the pants, maybe I can use that to make a bow so it shows on the dress. 

She's napping right now, when she gets up, I'll make her try it on and will post more pictures then. 



OK, just added the bow.  I used the fabric from the pants, it doesn't really go but I don't have any other pink.

So she just woke up =)

I need to fix it a little bit.  The straps are too short and kindda tight at the armpit.

Mens shirt into Kayly's dress

Boy oh boy!!! My back hurts!!!

It took me almost 2 hours to do this dress.  Why?  Because it's knit??  Because I'm just not good.

I saw this tutorial like a month ago, and finally went to Goodwill and found a men's shirt for $2.50  =)

The front looks good but the back not so good because I forgot something LOL

Kayly is sleeping and I haven't washed the shirt yet, so she won't be able to wear it.  I was so excited to make this dress and didn't wash it.  I'll wash it tomorrow and will post more pictures.

Another shirt for Kayly

I wanted to see if I can sew  knit fabric.  I found this from the pile that my mom was going to donate to Goodwill.  The neck turned out not so good because it's all stretch.  So that means I need to practice sewing on knit fabric more.

So I posted about 30 mins ago that I made the pants for Kayly from my mom's skirt.  I found a shirt that goes with it and ta da...
The top took me longer because uhmmm... just because hehe

Not bad huh?

I have to list out everything I do that's "sewing related" here so I can count how many items I've made through out the year.

Grandma's old skirt into Kayly's pants/leggings

So my mom called me over to her house this morning because she has a pile of clothes that she was going to donate.  I went over and picked out a big bag of her old clothes.  This was one of her skirts.
I did this in total of 5 minutes.  Hehe not bad, not bad.
