Mens shirt into Kayly's dress

Boy oh boy!!! My back hurts!!!

It took me almost 2 hours to do this dress.  Why?  Because it's knit??  Because I'm just not good.

I saw this tutorial like a month ago, and finally went to Goodwill and found a men's shirt for $2.50  =)

The front looks good but the back not so good because I forgot something LOL

Kayly is sleeping and I haven't washed the shirt yet, so she won't be able to wear it.  I was so excited to make this dress and didn't wash it.  I'll wash it tomorrow and will post more pictures.

Another shirt for Kayly

I wanted to see if I can sew  knit fabric.  I found this from the pile that my mom was going to donate to Goodwill.  The neck turned out not so good because it's all stretch.  So that means I need to practice sewing on knit fabric more.

So I posted about 30 mins ago that I made the pants for Kayly from my mom's skirt.  I found a shirt that goes with it and ta da...
The top took me longer because uhmmm... just because hehe

Not bad huh?

I have to list out everything I do that's "sewing related" here so I can count how many items I've made through out the year.

Grandma's old skirt into Kayly's pants/leggings

So my mom called me over to her house this morning because she has a pile of clothes that she was going to donate.  I went over and picked out a big bag of her old clothes.  This was one of her skirts.
I did this in total of 5 minutes.  Hehe not bad, not bad. 

and ta da !!!

Princess Skirt

My "sewing corner" is so messy and ewww looking.  I have fabrics in the bag, on the floor, every where.  We went to Walmart last night and I found a big tote.  Bought it.  This morning I put all my fabrics in there and uhmmm  looks like it's not going to be big enough because I have a few more bags of fabric.

Also found the Easter fabrics at Walmart on clearance.  Some was 90 cents a yard, some where 1.19 a yard.  WOW!!! I bought a bunch.  So what do I do with them?  Hehe I don't know yet.  Maybe make some dresses for Kayly for next Easter.



Like I said I plan to make one dress a week for Kayly.  Well, the dress is not done.  While going through my fabrics, I found this small piece of princess fabric I bought for Kayly at Joann.  So I made a skirt for her real quick.  She was busy watching Cinderella so she didn't want to pose for pictures.  =)

Since she was sick on her birthday (Monday), I am going to have another birthday for her today (no presents though, I forgot to rewrap them last night).

Red Polka Dots Dress for birthday morning

It's Kayly's birthday today.  She's 3 now.  WOW !!!

I made this dress for her last night.  I bought the fabric from Walmart, I almost didn't want to finish the dress because the fabric is too thin.  Oh well.  I made it any way.  V neckline.

Muslin for Simplicity 2373

I think I chose the wrong pattern for my first dress.  It looks like a maternity dress.  Urrgg...  I'm trying to adjust it so it fits me and it's so hard.  =( 

One Dress a Week

I plan to make 1 dress a week for my daughter throughout this summer.  It shouldn't take me longer than 3 days to sew it.  I think the next dress will have a collar.  I just learned it yesterday.  =) 

Another plan :  I want to make 1 dress to wear when I go on my cruise in May (Yikes, that's next month, I don't think I have enough time)

Also want to make a dress for me to wear on my birthday.

Is this too much for me????

Simplicity 2373 Muslin

I just finished making the muslin for this dress. I cut a 10 and it was too big for me. The bust was like 2 inches loose. I guess I'll cut an 8 . 

Grab My Button

Oh boy! It took 45 mins to figured out how to add the Grab My Button to this page. LOL It isn't pretty but that will do. A pink sewing machine just for me. I love pink, by the way .

Yellow Bumble Bee Dress

Yay!!!  This was the very first fabric that I bought for Kayly.  But I never made it because she actually picked it out.  I was afraid to messed up the dress using the fabric she likes.  So... Ta-da!!!!

It looks good, except the bow was sewn on crooked.  I don't know how I did that but oh well... that's easy to fix.

Kayly's Easter Dress

I finished this dress in one day.  =)  Proud of myself.  Bought this fabric from Joann, it was 50% off (Easter fabric).  It turned out nice.  My husband said it's the best one I've made out of all of them.  Well, I guess I'm learning a little bit at a time and every time I sew something, I learn from my mistakes also.

Dress failed

This is ugly.  I can't believe that it turned out so ugly.  I'm going to take it apart and redo the whole dress.  It needs to be shorter, and the top is too big for her.  The invisible zipper failed also.  Gosh !!!!!!!!!

Cinderella Skirt

Kayly is sick today and she doesn't want to do anything.  I bought her this cinderella fabric a while back wanting to make her a skirt.  So I made it today real quick to make her happy. 

Pink Skirt

I made several skirts for my daughter, but this is my favorite one (because it's pink)  hehe and the lace on the bottom is really cute.

Yellow lady bug dress for Kayly

I made this one after the Cinderella dress.  It got so many mistakes but I'm not going to show them.  Don't want to embarras myself.  My goal for this dress was to finish the neck and the arms without bias tape.  I did it !!!  It's simple but it looks cute on my daughter.

Green Dress~ McCall's 6019

I didn't use the pattern for this dress.  I saw the picture on McCall's website and really liked it so I tried to make it for my daughter.

Cinderella Dress

This was the very first dress I actually made.  I have made some boxers for my husband but they are just boxers.

I actually spend time to make this dress.  I followed the tutorial on make it love it site.

My daughter had a Cinderella costume for last Halloween but she wants to be Cinderella again for her birthday, so ... Taa daaa
